engine dies after 5 mph zone?

I have a 2004 switch I. When first launched and driven out of no wake zone, the engine dies when trying to get on the throttle. it may or may not start after but when it does the engine dies again when giving it gas. this goes on for about 5-10 tries and then finally it drives normal for the rest of the day?? does anyone have and idea of what might be going on?

Check my reply on the 'Engine Dies' thread re: ethanol content in gas.
Net: use 93 octane and put in gas stabilizer amount with each tank full as directed on the can.

When this is happening did you notice if your temp guage was fluctuating?

Yes, the temp gauge was reading high.

So what your saying it stays steady hotter than normal? Or does it fluctuate or go from hot to cold as you let it idle.

Check to see if water is draining from the hoses like loose connection. Check to see that water is not leaking from engine drain plugs I don't know if you have a heater or shower but check those too.

Water slowly leaking from the block when in storage will do strange things when yoiu go to run an engine that is partially empty.
I had a shower on mine. The cold had a bad check valve and would drain some water out of the engine.

The temp gauge stayed high, and the engine smelled like it was running real rich. Ill check the hoses and plugs for leaks.

If the engine is running the right temperature 170- 180 and it was running rich you could have an engine sensor going bad.

Since it only happens after it has been parked???? After it sits for a day pull off the top hose by the thermostat. The water should be up there.
If it is you can rule that out. If it isn't then you have to find out where it is leaking from. My temp guage would be right up there when I turned the key to the on position but as soon as it started the engine it would fall right off to 110 degrees. And if I gave it throttle it would die. Starting up was hard with black smoke.

              Good luck!
