I just purchased an Acme prop and understand that I need a prop puller to remove the old prop (I assume this is correct). Can anyone recommend a good prop puller? Are there any alternatives to a prop puller (like something I may already have in the garage)?
I have read where some people are using a lot of heat from a torch to get the prop off (not sure I like this as it may warp the prop shaft). I have also read where people have used "bearing pullers" (I am assuming like a wheel bearing puller). Has anyone had any experience with this?
If I take it to a boat shop how much should it cost to get the prop swaped?
Thanks!
