All I can say is Dang! lol.. Its one of those jobs when your in the middle, your like I wish I just paid someone to do this and once you finish your happy you didn't. The hardest part is getting the cable out. As I broke off 2 old and rusty bolts whole removing the old cable. The best advise I can give you guys is remove all your water hoses in that general area, remove you oil filter unit/bracket and internal locker panels. I ran my new 17' cable over the tank and hand plenty of slack. 18' would be way to long.
I used the thread below to change it. I did not cut the old cable, I just made sure I pulled straight and gave it a few hard tugs and it pulled right out.
