    Compression Check

    Hello,

Next monday I go inspect a tige 20i 2002 ( 5.7liter), and before buy it I want check the engine compression, but I don't know what is the correct value. Can you help me please?

I suppose to check the sacrificial anodes, but I don't know what is that ?

Tank you a lot for your help !

I would hire a marine surveyor or a local marine mechanic to do that. Marine surveyors check everything on the boat inside and out as well as a lake test.

They are worth looking in to.

I would second the marine surveyor. For about a hundred bucks or so, they will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about the boat.

Plus if they say something works and it doesn't, there is a certain amount of liability for them.

Tige boats will not have these.

I'd go with Matt's recommendation. Or you could just take it to Lee and get all the answers

Seriously, your local Tige dealer would be a great place to have them do a once over. Our local dealer certifies the used boats they sell, so when you buy them they're usually in good mechanical condition.

I'm thinking any mechanic will be better than you trying to wing it yourself. No offense but a comp test is performed the same on any 4 stroke engine.
