Hopefully I've finally completed the process. The photos of hose2 above is on the high side (transom) and comes from the impeller. On the other side is 2 hoses. Each of these goes to the bottom of a manifold where the drain plugs are. So it appears that those plugs drain the exchanger also. Atleast that is what I am hoping. Secondly I could not get the plug to come loose from the vdrive, in fact I started rounding of the hex on it because it is so tight. I'm not sure that thing has been removed since it was painted. The inlet side goes through my sea strainer to I emptied that out along with draining the transmission cooler which comes from the other side of the vdrive. I removed the manifold plugs again today and more water came out. Is that normal? Is it possible and necessary to get 100% of the water out?

Thanks for everyones help on this.
