    1997 Marine Power Vortec 307?

Does anyone know the specs of this engine?

Google isn't turning up anything useful.

What is it in? Dont recall either ford or GM having a marine 307 and Marine Power wasnt in Tige boat until like 2003 or 2004 and the 350 ci was the smallest. Ford got out of the marine biz in late 90's IIRC

Is it a 307 cubic inch or a 307 horse power? I assumed CI. In 97, i would expect it to be a 350 CI Mercuiser and be a 315 HP.

I don't know actually, I'm just going by what it says on top of the engine.

On the archive site it says the Vortec 307 was an option. I think that's horsepower rating, but I'm not sure.

I rember there being 3 options at the time of purchase. That was the base model and I would imagine it is carbureted? I'm not sure where the 307 fits in? I have a brochure at home. it might be in there? I can check later tonight. The second option was what I upgraded to. Merc Ski Gen+ TBI 290HP. Then there was the Merc. Black Scorpion MPI 315HP. That was like a $3,500 upgrade at the time. I wasn't interested in the Vortec model since I didn't want another carbureted boat. I do remember them saying it was a motor made for Tige though? Maybe it was a Marine Power? I always thought the entire lineup at the time was Merc? I'll see what I can dig up.

Here is a link to the archived website showing that engine as an option for that model.
                    http://web.archive.org/web/199702061...ce/ws2002.html

In the write up for the 2150 it shows more options than I remember, but it says "Tigé Vortec 307 by Marine Power"

The guy who owns the boat says it's a 350 engine that was an upgrade from the stock carburetor engine.

Thats a good thing, is it TBI or multi-port EFI? Based in T-Allen's info, that a 25HP diff.

I scanned the page of the brochure. I'm not that great of a scanner. The only way I could get the text legible was to scan to pdf. I can't attach a pdf file here that I'm aware of? I put it in my dropbox if anyone is interested for now. It shows four engine options available.

Very nice information! Nice to see the layouts of all of them side by side as well. I dug through my file and didnt have anything like this. But had the manuals to everything else down to the brake buddies. Orginal owner kept everythign for me.
