Warning buzzer sounds when taking off

So, when I come out of the hole at WOT the waring buzzer goes off. If I take it easy - say about 1/2 throttle, no buzzer sounds. I have an 07 22Ve with the 340 MP.

Just so you guys have more info, I set the Speedset for my wife and then jump in and get ready to board. She isn't that experienced of a driver so it really helps to tell her just to nail it and don't worry about feathering the throttle (3 kids under 6 in the boat kinda force that to be the case - hell I am lucky to even get in the water most days). Also, this is not the original motor - the guy who owned it before the guy I bought it from let it freeze one year so he put in a new one, the motor actually has less than 50 hours on it. Last time I changed the oil I put 5 qts of Mecruiser 15W-40 and one quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer.

I think this may be an oil pressure issue, but the thing is I am not too sure if this is an overfill or an underfill. If it was overfill, I figured it would have burned of the excess by now, but the dipstick still shows slightly over full.

Could it also be a rev limit issue?

    Thanks for the help!

Most of the warning buzzers are for v-drive oil not engine oil if I'm not mistaken. I have never owned anything that new so I could be way off.

Six quarts in the oil pan? Seems like a lot. Too much in there and you can get frothing, which could cause a false "low oil" warning. They really mean it when they say "Full", you shouldn't have more in there than that. I'd remove some until you're just at the Full mark and see if that improves things.

My PCM v-drive doesn't have any fluid level sensors at all. Not sure if others do, but I've never heard of nor seen one that does. If it's a fluid level warning, it's most likely coming from the engine.

On the frothing, I believe you will see a bunch of bubbles on the dip stick after driving for a bit. I believe what happens is the crank is making direct contact with the oil in the pan.

Do you get the buzzer if you turn the speed set off, accelerate at 1/2 throttle then slowly to WOT? What I'm trying to see if its related to RPM, or to acceleration.

Jetter thats a good idea too to check the v-drive oil. If you are low under a hard acceleration it could cause the low level alarm to go off.

Well, the reason I think it is an oil issue is that I looked down once and saw the oil pressure sitting on 0 and the control panel was flashing. That is where I get a bit confused - so if it was really going to 0, that would mean that the oil in the pan sloshes to the back away from the oil sump, which would mean that I am low on oil. But, if it is overfull, then it could be sensing bubbles which would mean it is frothing.

So, one would think that the dipstick would be the telltale sign, but, since this is not the original motor, it is hard to tell if this dipstick has been upgraded since the recall or not. One thing is for sure, when I figure this out, I am going to mark on the dipstick where the 'full' line should be.

I am thinking about adding a quart one weekend and trying it out - if it still happens, then I will pull out 2 quarts and check again.

Joeprunc - If I accelate to WOT while at 1/2 throttle, sometimes it beeps and others it doesn't. Is there an alarm for over revving the engine?

Thanks for all the help guys!!!
