Steering problems on 2002 v21 riders edition and prop recommendation

Last week I took the boat out for a test run. Prior to leaving I realized my steering cable was ceased and was able to work it loose with a little penetrating oil on the rudder side. It has a little resistance still but not that bad. (New cable in the mail). My concern is that there may be something more wrong. I have owned a few vdrives but never a Tige and don't know what to expect. Left turn against the torque is very difficult with power and almost takes two hands. When I'm full left its hard to to pull out of the turn. Right turn seems ok. Could this be the small resistance in the line being amplified when under power? What's normal for that model and year?

This boat only has 270 HP and I was wandering if anyone had a recommended prop to pep it up in the towing range when sacked up. I don't know much about props, only that my last boat had an after market and the black scorpion and I really liked the power.

    Thanks.

Sounds like its time for a new cable. Pretty easy to change out. The last 2 numbers on the end of the cable are the length.

I would certainly expect the new cable to cure your steering ills.

So car as a prop, your best bet is going to be a phone call to Acme. They will take all of your factors into consideration and come up with a prop for you. You should go out and do a few test runs to find the info they need. Give them a call and find out what those items are. Make a list and go out and complete it.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

One thing I forgot to mention if you dont already know, tie a rope to the old cable when you remove it so its easy to pull the new cable thru.

Guys am I going to have to pull the tank? Even with the cable fully retracted I can't get it around the last corner as it comes out of the floor. Of course I just topped off the tank the other day.
