    Hard to steer

Took the 2001 out for the first time and notice the stearing was extremly hard to turn. Is that normal?

Well, it can be normal every few years, but it is not proper. Probably have a corroded steering cable and just need to replace it. Great thread on the process: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7338

If you want to salvage your cable for a lil while. Turn your wheel so the rudder is at full lock with the cable exposed. Clean it, and spray lubricant on it. I use wd-40 which probably isnt the best but It loosens up my cable when it sticks. The steering will keep locking up if you let it sit but the wd-40 will give you time to change the cable out.

on a side note, if you get your steering loosened up, you don't have to worry about it locking up while driving or anything. It will only lock up if you let it sit and corrosion gets to it.

You don't know what boat you have? They only made a hand full in 01. Check your title or registration or post up a picture and someone can tell you.

Or are you talking about the cable? You should be able to contact the dealer and tell them model and year of the boat and get a part number for the cable. If not pull it out, the part number is on it somewhere.

Thankyou for your reply. That is correct. I'm not sure what model I have. Some users have suggested type but I want to make sure before purchasing a new cable. I've posted pictures already so maybe you could give me your expert opinion..... I'm still waiting on title and registration so I can't check it right now and was hoping to not wait for it to get the cable.
