Does anyone know what part # I need to order for a new steering cable for my 02 21V?

Cable coming out is an "ssc13418" steering cable
I got the other cable out, and it has a part # of ssc13418 and the parts place is giving me a ssc15418... everything looks the same and it seems to match up.. Im a little concerned that the place that did my last one may have put the wrong one in??? (They are out of business and the cable only lasted 3 years)Ive read on here that I need a "17"??? Oh well I guess I can replace it again in 3 years. WHAT A PAIN to get the new one in. I had to slide the gas tank back 2 inches to get the straight part of the cable to make the "bend" from the steering wheel area to the gas tank area. -
Even if you could get by with a 17-ft, the extra foot shouldn't be a problem.
I think that the 134xx is the standard teleflex cable, and the 154xx is the newer "extreme" version. It is supposed to be more corrosion resistant, so hopefully will last longer.Comment
