1998 Tige 22i. I have a water issue and need some help troubleshooting. Water is filling the hull and bilge is activating every 30 minutes or so to pump out. I cannot see clearly where the water is comming in and Ive pulled the boat out of the water and filled the hull up on the trailer and I see no water coming out anywhere (hull or anything attached to the exterior). My plan is to now have a completely dry hull and put it back in the water and look again for the leak but I have no idea where to start looking. Been reading up that it may be a cracked exhaust pipe or worse. Just looking for some advise before I start tearing things apart. Thanks.

Water in Hull

We have the same boat, just one year difference. My first thought would be to remove the rear seat and pull up that middle floor board behind the engine cover. That should expose where the propeller shaft goes through the hull. It is possible that's where your water is coming in? If so, you need to repack it or replace it with a new PSS.
Here are some threads about repairing or replacing it.

Thanks Mike, I have done that and nothing obvious coming in at the shaft while the boat is sitting (engine off) or running (tied to the dock in gear at low RPM). Tige dealer here says that they would be putting it in the water and just looking to find the entry point as I did. So, Im fearing my problem is a bit more severe now.

Read the first post in the last link I posted. I'll add a link for that specific post. His leaking only became evident during driving. Worth considering?

Thanks for the post Mike. I ended up taking the fuel tank out to expose everything in the back so I could back it down the boat ramp and get a good look back there. (See attached picture for anyone who hasnt seen the back of an old 22i with the tank out. Also a good time to tighten the hose clamps on the exhaust hoses, grease the rudder and replace the cracked blower hose.
I backed the boat down the ramp still strapped to the trailer to look for water coming in....nothing at all. Backed it down a bit more, still nothing. Backed it down even more, almost to the point of water coming in over the top and finally I heard a bit of air hissing from the prop shaft. When I pushed on it slightly, the leak was exposed as you originally suggested. Im glad I found it because if there was nothing, probably meant engine related.
2 questions, I only have one week of boating left and Im wondering if I can just tighten that seal somehow and replace it later in the fall for next year. The leak isnt that bad and doesnt appear to leak when its running, just when its sitting there.
Second, With the bilge running alot to keep the water out when the boat is sitting on the dock all night, of course the battery gets low. The boat will still start but I know the voltage is low. Can this effect engine performance. Reason I ask is sometimes the boat would start and then I go to throttle up and it would die on me, this started when my water issues started. Got me thinking that a low battery (from bilge running constantly) is creating a fuel delivery issue via fuel pump or something. Any thoughts on that?
Thanks again for the advice. Scott
