    Prop Question

OK, here are the pics. I made a boo boo today. The question is, is it fixable? Second, I did drive it while it was like it was, but imediately turned around, since there was a severe vibration. Is that from the damage done to the prop? If not, then what should I go have checked out. The prop and shaft still spin by hand, so I think they are ok. If I need to get a new one, what are my options? What are some advantages to 4 and three, and what pitch should i get? I mainly do wakeboarding, with weight, and some heavy boarders/skiiers. Thanks for all the info. Oh yeah, where can I get these props at, and is there anything to them to pull them off, I Mean just loosen the bolt, and then what? Thanks everyone.

looks like you were in reverse when you did it? That being the case... you probably werent going too fast when you did it and probably didnt damage anything but that poor, poor propeller. I would assume that its fixable, but you should think about gettin' a spare. I'm thinking you may have to send it to acme, since it's CNC machined in the first place.

My guess would be to assume it’s fixable, I would contact ACME prop and let them know what your setup is (boat size, ballast, no ballast, etc.) and they can recommend what the best prop is to suit your needs.

Propellers Online also sounds like they have some steals. Do a search for propellers because this topic was discussed not too long ago.

Hey... does anyone know what the factory 4-blade's size and pitch is that comes w/ the synchrotech on a 22v w/ a MAG MPI?

Thanks guys. Yeah I have been checking out the other site, and will read it more indepth later.

On to getting it off, do I just pop the nut off and it comes off?

Yes I was in reverse. THe wind caught me when I was coming off the trailer and it got real shallow real quick. I just eased into reverse and it did it.

Would that damage give a bad vibration?

                  Thanks a million

Lol, although I personally have never done it my understanding is that you will need a prop puller, it will make the job much easier. I have also heard of people getting a rubber mallet and banging the prop off.

i sorta of figured that after looking at acme's sight they offer one, real similar to a harmonic balancer puller. I think I could make mine one of those work.

yeah i dinged my prop about two months back, there was a pvc pipe sticking up in the water that i couldn't see. you are gonna need a prop puller you don't want to bend the shaft. and if you drive it with out getting it fixed the vibration will bend the shaft. mine was just a little ding (tad bit worse than yours not much though, the tip bent a little on one blade and the other blade looked like yours, only hit two of the three) but, i took it to a boat repair place and they pulled it and fixed it for 60 bucks, 25 pull, and 35 fix. did it in less than a week too.
