I went through a very similar situation last year. I changed the fuel filter, dist. cap, rotor, coil, and finally an ignition module. The fix came when I looked at the alternater- which was working perfectly - and found a wire with a butt connection that comes off of the alternator (It's a pink wire) with a loose connection....hmm. I pushed the wires together tight and it fired immediatley and has run great ever since. I hate electrical gremlins!!
