    Intake seal leaking

'06 MP 5.7 carb - pretty sure the rear intake manifold seal is leaking oil. Crap. Not a lot of oil but enough so you can see it puddle on the trans after every trip.

So tell me how easy it is to seal back up? Remove valve covers, distributor, gas line, intake manifold. Replace all gaskets and seal ends, etc....per manual right?

I'm thinking about waiting until the end of the season to fix. Just keep a close eye on it and doing a good wipedown every so often.

Ahhhh yes, the proverbial intake manifold leak. Not a problem to fix at all. Get some brake parts cleaner and paper towels and wipe down the affected area. Get some black RTV and apply liberally to the area AFTER you have used painters tape to mask off the borders. It's a common leak on older chevy's that usually stems from inadequate manifold installation but isn't usually a detriment. Check the intake mounting bolts near the rear for tightness (13ft-lbs) but the silicone should do the trick.

Never thought just to seal it from the outside. I'll give a it shot and if that doesn't work, then have the manifold resealed. Thanks! Hopefully you save me a few hundred bucks.
