    Fuel Injector....Help??

I recently just purchased a 2000 Tige 21i. Took it out today for first time and after about 20 min it cut off and could smell gas. It would start back up and kind of puttted a little like it was flooded with gas. After letting it sit for a five minutes it started and ran fine for a few minutes, then cut off. This process continued a few times till we made it to the dock. I was told the boat has new injectors, the lines were cleaned, pressure was good. Anyone have any idea? Does it sound like it is getting too much gas? Could it be something electrical and are we talking alot of money or easy fix?? Thanks, any info would help. Also, I am new....first post.

    MAP manifold absolute pressure sensor
    CTS coolant temp sensor
    TPS throttle position sensor

These would be the big 3 to look into.

It seems now it is just cutting off when its hot and been running for 30min. In colder water it seems to do better but in very warm water at belews lake in nc is where it is having issues. I am guessing its the coolant temp sensor going bad?? Does this sound right? Does anyone have a part number for this. Its for a 2000 21i. Thanks.

That particular engine has a manifold air temp sensor that adds to the ECM inputs for fueling. I will assume you had black smoke when it happened and very rough running but please correct me if you didn't. CHP is right with the coolant temp sensor possibility as well. The same thing happened to my boat at lake mead 10 years ago and here's what it took to fix: the manifold air temp sensor had been covered in oil vapor because the engine oil had been overfilled (my fault) and we had just stopped after a 13 mile run into Temple Bar. So the air temp sensor was misreading the true air temp because the oil on the sensor was acting like a heat exchanger and showing lower than normal temp readings to the computer. The computer then calculated that combined with the coolant temp sensor input that it should add more fuel and then all rough running and crappy performance.
I ended up changing both the coolant temp sensor and the manifold air temp sensor.
        CTS part number:805218T $25
        Manifold air temp: 805223T $35
The air temp sensor is located just in behind the throttle body on top of the intake manifold and is a two wire quick disconnect sensor that sits vertically in the manifold.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...
