Tige speedset on 22v

With the speedset on the 2006 22V, the system basically works off of the engine and the RPM's...correct? so if the paddle wheel is broken and not working the speedset would still work correct? or does the system go off of the paddle wheel?

The Tige Accu-Set, as it was called in 06, was a boat MPG based system. Its speed signal was generated by the tri-ducer paddles wheel.

If that is correct then i have solved my problem.

I thought it ran off the engine and the RPM speed.
