    1996 Pre2002WT Carb

My carb is shot & everyone is telling me I cannot get one??????? Is there an after market that will work??? The current carb is the Mercury 3310-807262A2 (or the 3310-807262R02) I just can't believe that my boat is parts now because of the in availability of a carb??? Will the Eddlebrock 1409 work, & if so do I need an adapter plate?? My engine is the 350 Magnum Tournament Ski. The serial # starts with "0F81" I cannot locate what the CFM is on the OEM carb, but the Eddlebrock 1409 CFM is 600. Is 600 CFM big enough for the Magnum?

    Thanks............

Would the Eddlebrock 1410 be a better application with 750CFM?

For a new carb, try ishopmarine.com. Get the the engine serial number before you log on. Be prepared...it will probably be about $500.
Can the carb not be rebuilt?

What I have had to do in the past and it takes a good parts guy but go to the parts store and just start going though all the carbs they have until you find one that is almost identical. Most of the time they have more vac lines that just need to be plugged off. But you can use a regular automotive one if you can find the right one. Plus it will save lot of $ vs a marine one. Main things are CFM, bolt pattern, throttle linkage, choke.

Just get the standard edelbrock (weber) 1406. 600 vac secondaries. Summit carries them for $299

The Edelbrock 1409 will work fine, marine carb. DO NOT BUY AN AUTOMOTIVE CARB FOR MARINE USE!!!!!!!! . You will also need to convert the hard fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb to flexible hose (make sure the hose is rated for gasoline) and the associated adapters. Your fuel pump fitting is a 3/8" inverted flare female (on the pump) and so is the fitting on the edelbrock. However, you will most likely need a 90* adapter on the edelbrock as the fitting enters the carb at the engine starboard rear corner from the side. Jegs sells adapters for that carb and we usually retrofit with an edelbrock carb fitting to -6AN male, (2)90* -6AN hose ends, -6 fuel rated pushloc hose and a 1/4" male pipe to -6AN male adapter for the fuel pump. Those fittings above and no adapter plate and you should be good to go. PM me if you have any other specific questions.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

How can you tell it is ruined? I had the carb rebuilt on my 1993 mecruiser after it sat for a few years. Mecruiser used Rochester carbs then which have a reputation of being hard to work on and rebuild and most people just slap on a new edlebrock. If you want I'll give you the number of the guy who rebuilt mine, he lives in del rio, tx and only works on Rochester carbs.

After he rebuilt mine it worked better than new, it's worth a shot at getting it rebuilt, and not jut a rebuilt kit, but giving it a media blasting to get all the gunk off and getting new bushings installed to seal up the vacuum leaks from the primary and secondary actuators.
