    Marine Power Alarms

I downloaded a manual last night and read through it but there is no mention of alarms (audible or not) and what they mean. Can anyone tell me what they are?

No but as a new owner I'd like to atleast know what to listen for. I have a small issue the last time out and am planning on going out this weekend. The motor stopped twice while idling at the dock. The gas is from 12/2011 and he put stabilizer in it when he winterized. There was buzzing after that but I think it is the key position letting me know it is on (ie right turn 1, whereas 2 is start engine).

        Injected or carbureted?
I know all about the carb alarms.. cuz there really isnt much to know.

        Low Oil Pressure
        High Water Temp

Thats about the size of it.
So this monkey walks into a bar...

Mine has no digital alarm read-out.. but again, mines carb. I think the injected version has a readout for OBD reader.

Alarms are these: any steady beep= either high engine temp, low oil pressure or high transmission oil temp. Multiple beeps while running indicates a code has been set and must be read with a MEFI code scanner to determine cause. That's it.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

I'm getting the "multiple beeps" alarm and had the code read. It said a code 81. Simple enough I thought....Nope. There are multiple reasons for a code 81. I am starting with the PPS (Pedal position sensor) in the throttle lever mechanism. I have the part out and now can't seem to find any of them online. Its from an 06 24 Ve with a 5.7 Marine Power. First year of the Throttle by wire system. Any ideas on where to find this part or what else could be causing the code 81?
                  Thanks!!
