    Shifter stuck in neutral

I have a 2001 Tige 21 V that has not had problems with the shifter until recently. It got stuck in neutral and won't shift into gear. I detached the cable from the transmission and the lever on the transmission moves easy. So the problem must be with the shifter. After I used a screw driver to force the spring on the inside handle I was able get the shifter to roughly move into both forward and reverse, but not without some good force. Any suggestions or is it time for a new shifter? Has anyone purchased a new shifter if so where?

Have you tried to disconnect the linkage from the shifter to make sure the cabal is moving freely?

Yes I disconnected the linkage from both ends and the cable is moving fine. After reconnecting everything I was able to shift into gear, but it isn't a smooth transition and takes a little force. Thanks for your input

I would not think that there are many parts to that shifter. I wonder if it came come apart and be cleand and greased.
