Need help, I bought a 2000 21V Ryders Edition great boat love it but I have a problem, my Tige' will do good for the firts two to three hours on the water then it starts to backfire and loose all power it will turn over but no start, I can't hear fuel pump, when it got to the point of checking for spark I removed the coil wire at the cap and boat will start and run fine like nothing happen. Any help will be greatly appriciated.

When was the last tune up, including new cap, rotor, plugs and wires?Comment

I would start with new cap rotor wires and plugs. Can't go wrong there unless you know how old they are.Comment

Before you spend a bunch of money on tune up parts, try spinning off your water separating fuel filter and dump it. Then disconnect the feed hose from the pump and dump the fuel in the boat into cans. Go with new gas and a clean filter and see what happens.So this monkey walks into a bar...Comment
