    getting a rebuilt engine

Hi my 2006 20i 5.7L Marine Power is in at the shop getting the engine rebuilt. He has done a lot of boats before inculding V drives. As he is not a Tige dealer is there anything I NEED to know regarding the computer stuff? The engine shop knows all regarding the marine engine and different gaskets etc... but thought maybe there might be something else that I need to know.

    Thanks

Off topic, but why are you having it rebuilt?

As long as it is just a sraight rebuild (not enlarging the bore or stroke), you should be fine bolting everything back up.

I put a new crate motor in my boat 3 years ago. My boat had an HO 375 HP Merc 454 in it. I had wanted to go down to the 330 HP version (the HO is really meant for Donzis and similar), but when I looked in to it, all of the electrical needed to be replaced at that point because of different fuel curves, air intake, etc...

        Enjoy the "new" engine!

If you dont have one, get a strainer on the intake water while you got the engine out.
I built my motor on my '07 20i. I feel your pain.
