Loss of oil pressure and shut down

I have a 2002 21v ( 350 EFI ) that just turned 120 hrs. When I start the motor for the first time, the oil pressure reads 40 psi at 700 rpm(idle). When it warms up to 160 deg. the oil pressure drops to 20 psi and the rpm remains at 700. The motor will some times shut it self off below 20 psi. What could be causing the loss of oil pressure? Has anyone else experienced this condition?

It's normal for oil pressure to drop when the engine warms up, it should also drop at idle but should come up when reved up. Sounds like the stalling may not be related to the oil pressure. I would look for other stalling causes like a vacume leak.

a very common thing with that year motor is the main harness plug to the engine comes loose and will cause the oil gauge or other gauges will act funky and causes the motor to die. the plug is located on the back of motor but u have a v drive so it will be turned around make sure the plug is making good contact . with the boat running have somebody wiggle that plug, if it is not making good contact the boat will die when you wiggle it.
