Anybody have a similiar issue. My batteries are good. Fully charged. When I go to start the boat...nothing. I have the ignition horn going but not even a click. The starter acts like it gettting no power. It acts exactly like if you left the boat in gear....shut it off and tryed to start it again. Could the throttle saftey switch go bad? Or maybe the starter cylinoid? Any thoughts?

check these
Make sure in neutral, been burned on that one before. Could be the 90 amp fuse on the starter. Your main + battery cable connects to it and then it connects to the starter. These can go bad as they are in the bilge with the starter.

Aren't there a couple of wire connections on the top of the trans that are related to the shifter being in neutral before allowing the engine to start. Not the wires on the starter as pictured above but near the tranny linkage...seem to remember someone pointing this out to me before. Not near my boat or I would look and take pic as well. It was literly a loose wire that wasn't allowing this person to start their boat.

Hey Guys, Yeah the boat is a 04 22v with the GM Vortec 335 horsepower 5.7L EFI V-8 Marine Power engine. Here is the weird thing. I pulled it back from the resevoir yesturday thinking I would look at it on the driveway. I must have tryed to start it 20 times yesturday with not even a click and then last night it magically turned over. I shut it off in 2 seconds because I dont have water hooked up to it. Then tryed to start it again and same thing...nothing....Yeah, I'm mechanically inclined so If you could direct me to the relay maybe I could bypass it to see if thats the problem. Thanks for your input. Erik

I have had this issue when the starter relay went bad. It's a the little 1" cube on the bracket near the distributor. Here's a picture.
You can find one at most auto parts stores. So this monkey walks into a bar...

To bypass, connect any hot lead to the starter solenoid wire, usually yellow with a red stripe. There will be two of these starter wires going into the relay, one in and one out and they should be the same color. You could also figure it out by looking on the starter solenoid itself. Touch the good 12v positive lead to the solenoid wire and it should go. However, the neutral safety switch may also be the problem and that can be bypassed behind the shifter if need be. Keep us posted.Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...
