Boat Goes into limp mode! Help.

2006 24 VE continues to go into limp mode when i turn on the dock lights. The boat will sometimes do it when i use the "taps" system, but its a given that it will happen with the dock lights turned on. Next to that the boat runs great on the water no other problems. The alternator has been changed to a higher amp, and one of the batteries has been replaced. Mechanic says there are 3 codes its giving but he dont know what they mean, so i guess i wont call him a mechanic of any sorts. Anyways i thought i would post and see what you all think. Thanks for you help, need it ready for the 4th of July! thanks guys!

At the risk of sounding like a jerk I will say that it sounds like he did. I guess not all dealers are of your caliber. Maybe you could have offered to help his dealer out by translating the codes for them / him.

Post the codes. I might be able to give some info if it's MEFI 5.

Wow! #1 I couldn't help at all because I have no Mechanical Skills what so ever.

#2 it was a joke! I didn't read the post at all.

#3 All i read was boat goes into limp mode, so I thought it would be funny (due to recent threads about boat not working right) but I guess it wasn't my bad. I guess im stupid for not reading entire posts. Sorry OP someone on here will get ya taken care of before the 4th.

Oh and as far as helping I am sure dom will eventually make his way to this thread and help out the OP.

Terminator I was going to PM you but don't want you to think that I am hiding. So this thread doesn't get way off base. I just felt that a guy coming here his first time trying to get help it was not the right time to joke. Yeah I know that some of the other threads have turned into debacles.

Anyways RT posts high of you, from his visit to your dealer, so I would like to think the same.

                      end of

Lets help BJ out so he can enjoy the 4th.

91Terminator is a solid guy. Count on that. Maybe his comic timing is off today, but don't have any worries about him as a person. He's 110%.

I wish I had the time to type all the things that could cause your symptoms, but I do nto have the time. There was a thread just last week with the same issues that were so common on the 06 Ve boats. I shared some info there.

use your search button at the top of the page and you will come up wit tons of info dating back to when I first experienced this with my 06 in 4/06.
