    no rpm when surfing

09RZ4 pcm343; we surf with 700lb starboard and 1300lb port. 6 people in the boat and max rpm W.O.T. is 3500 speed 10.8 and acts like thats it ,doesnt seem right

You want to put all the ballast on the surf side - don't weight opposite sides for surfing. 10.8 seems a bit slow - I run around 11-11.6 depending on the rider. Also shift all people weight to the surf side - preferably the rear of the boat. The RZ's like a bit a weight up front to lengthen the pocket out, but the RZ4 also requires a bit more weight in the rear to get the boat down in the water.

Problem is not the surf, its great ,its the boat won't exceed 11mph or 3500 rpm at wide.open.throttle. down at 9oclock ,still have stock prop with 1235 ordered but seems like it should still go faster and why would rpm not max out at wot and just cavitate

Is this happening when the SpeedSet is on? Mine does this if I have SpeedSet on before I take off. If I set it after getting up to speed it it's fine.

The fact that you are hitting 3500 at 10.8 surfing speed bothers me Or am I just reading it wrong. Does your boat currently have the 537 prop and at what elevation do you boat at?

Sounds like the speed-set is set at 10.8, so once engauged, the speed-set controls the throttle.

I never noticed the rpms on my boat, but try some weight up front. Too much weight in the rear can cause issues.
