    2010 RZ4 Pro Ballast Question

I have the Pro Ballast on my RZ4. My rear starboard bag fills but does pump out. I can hear the pump run while filling but not draining. My question is there a seperate circut for the fill/drain to the pump? Or does anyone have some other suggestions on what I can check?

    Thanks
    George

I could be wrong but it was my understanding that they are the aerator pumps. If that is the case then there should be a pump to fill and a separate pump to empty. If the one is not working that would be why you do not hear it when it drains. Is this issue new this season? Did the ballast get winterized? I would check that the pump looks good, check connections, then start validating power at the different connections. I do not know, if all the pumps are on the same, but have you checked the fuses and circuit breaker?

Thanks Skip. This gives me some things to look for. The boat was winterized by WWS. I did take a qiuck look under the helm to see if anything was tripped but did not really see anything. I am picking up the boat tomorrow and will begin the process. Thanks again.

Your 2010 does have a dedicated fill pump and dedicated drain pump for each tank. So if you're not hearing a pump run when the switch is the drain mode, then start at the pump and work backwards. The pump will be connected directly to the tank.

Cool thanks Chp...The Sac has 4 hoses I am assuming that 2 are to fill, 1 to drain and 1 to vent does this make since?

You also have a 250# tank under the floor, which is the primary ballast tank. It has one hose/port for filling, one port for draining (thich the drain pump will be connected directly to) and then a vent port/hose that goes to one of the top ports on the sac. The 2 bottom ports on the sac are basically gravity drains that go back to the hard tank and the 2nd port on the top is the vent.

To find the drain pump, you will need to pull the sac and remove the false floor over the tank.

Thanks Mike, I will be picking up the boat in a couple of hours and start the process. Are there any trick in getting the floor out?

              Thanks again.

Well here's the update on the drain pump. Blown fuse, cause of the blown fuse impeller moved down on the shaft and stopped the motor from turning. All is fixed and worked well. Thanks for the help guy's.

my 09 rz4 ,had similar problem ,after several blown fuses they swapped the fuse holder and problem solved ,they originally thought it was impellar issue, i added ballast to mine 900 stock now setup like chptrhl described ,drain pump is faster than gravity and requires stopping and waiting to fully drain
