    Belt squealing

My belt squealed a couple of times yesterday. I've got a V-Drive so the belt is right below where the sun deck connects to the transom and we had a bunch of people who were really wet get into the boat. I backed off the throttle and everything went back to normal, but it did happen twice. It ran for an hour without any further incident. The belt looks normal, but anything else I should check or be worried about?

Snug the belt up. The long serp belt can strech. Without a auto tensioner its normal to need to tighen the belt up from time to time.

Also check water in bilge area. My belt sqeaks & slips when water flows to back of bilge area when accelerating if allowed to build up.

Thanks, will do. Like I said, I did get a bunch of water directly over the engine cover from people getting in and out of the boat wet.

could be early warning of alternator fixin to go out. That is what mine did a couple of weeks before it went out.
