    sudden loud air sucking noise!!!

after pulling the kids on the tube today my 350mag started making a loud air sucking noise. I've narrowed the noise down to the intake, and think maybe the little muffler in the intake was sucked in through the butterfly vavle. I did some searches on the forums and found one post that sounds similar.

My question is, is this common, and should I be worried about the little foam muffler getting sucked into the intake?

Also is there anything else that could cause this noise?

The motor runs great at all rpms. The sucking noise is really only noticeable at idle.

    Here's the other thread.

Has anybody else had this issue?

I had to change the IAC on my boat recently. Afterwards I noticed a loud sucking noise. It is most noticible at Idle or low RPMs. If you open the engine compartment sounds like the noise is coming from the throtle Body. There is a samll filter that goes in there. it is called the IAC muffler. I have been told from time to time these will just decentergrate. After I replaced this the problem was solved.
      The part # is 35-863829

Here is a link to the parts guide.

Put the little foam muffler in and the noise is gone. Easy $1.33 fix!
