    Rudder

I purchased my '04 22V Riders Edition last year and the steering cable was very stiff so this problem did not come to light until I replaced the cable.

The steering is easy and smooth, but now if you release the steering wheel at about 15 mph or above the boat steers severely and abruptly to the right.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix? I was told grinding down the left edge of the rudder may fix this issue.

    Thank you

Its not really an "issue"... Its called a Loaded rudder, and it allows you to hold a straight line while underway. If it wasnt loaded you would be constantly drifting due to the play in the steering.

You can grind one side down to offset this effect, but I wouldnt... Its risky and of course not reversible.
