    Problem when surfing

We have an 2008 Tige Z1 with 75 hrs. We had the right side of the boat with 500 lbs of ballast on and taps at 6 for wake surfing. Boat had approx 1/4 tank. We noted that boat was either missing or slipping periodically. checked trans and v drive levels and all good. Has anyone experienced this before. With a 1/4 tank of fuel boat should not be starved of fuel?

Not on normal plan, but loaded for surfing, it very well could have. These tanks are very long and narrow, so with a boat loaded in the rear and listing to one size, it very well could have been drawing air. This is the nature of the beast with most any towboat.

I have a 2008 Z1 and the same thing is happening to my boat on the right side. I have also noticed white smoke coming from the exaust when surfing on the right side. I was thinking it might have something to do with the v-drive fluid levels at that angle.

Do you surf both sides, but only notice the smoke when riding goofy?

I guess I would try filling up and see if it still happens. We always fill up before surfing, gas is ballast.

Yes. The port side seems to be fine.
