    Alarm and transmition disengaging

I have an 2006 22VE. After the boat warms up say about 20 min of driving. At low speeds below 6 mile per hour or idle the red light on the dash comes on and and an alarm sounds the transmition then disengages. If we turn of the boat and turn it back on it works fine for about 2 minutes and then it happens again. The problem seems to be becoming more and more frequent.
    Any ideas?

I'm probably stating the obvious but, did you check the fluid level? Check to see if the trans cooler is clogged.

      checked fluid

I check the fluid level and it was 2/3 full when the engine was cold. How do I check to see if Trans cooler is clogged and what does it look like?

      Thanks

Is the transmission (prop) actually disengaging, or is the engine just being reduced to idle speed? There's a big difference, one is a known issue on the 06's and the other is not heard of. The trans is manually operated by a cable, it cant be disengaged, but only in or out of gear based on the shift cable. Or it's slipping due to low fluid or low fluid pressure.

I am assuming the prop disengages -- here is the symptom: moving at a slow no wake speed, the red light turns and the alarm is in a constant beep the throttle stops working you can move it full foward or reverse and at the same time the prop stops working. You can move the throttle froward or reverse and the engine does not rev. If I turn off the engine and turn it right back on it works fine for about 1 minute and the problem happens again.

Thanks so much for helping me out with this

Does your 06 have the Tige EIDB dual battery option?

Start by making sure that both batteries are charged up and test good and that all the battery connections are tight.

what should the battery gauge read on the dash at idle when the batteries have a full charge? When I was out on the water it was barely reading above 10 at idle.
