    That's a good test procedure. We use a ball valve on the air input and leave the air charge locked in and submerge overnight looking for substantial pressure loss. The fluid pressure range should be from 80 to 160psi so don't be afraid to add more pressure. As for potential other sources, yes coming in through the vent is possible but damn that's a lot of water in the bilge if that were the case.
    Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

      I had about 60 lbs of pressure for about five minutes and didn't see any drop. Should I test it at higher pressure and overnight to be sure it's not leaking?

        yes bulge water can get in with your year. If it is on the trailer or a lift. The plug in the back can be out and water will still get high enough to fill the tranny without draining out the rear plug. you should always remove your center plug just in front of the v drive. If you have one. if you don't you should add one for sure.
