    Error Codes 3256 and 4238

I have just purchased a 2018 R21 with the Indmar Raptor 400 with 68 hours. First time out was last Thursday and after running about three hours, it threw error code 3256, which shows as an O2 sensor open/lazy. I was told to try and run the boat fairly hard for 15 mins or so to see if it cleared, so did that yesterday and it did not. Later in the the day it showed another code, 4238 STFT 2 high limit. It looks like this is also related to the O2 sensor unit problem? The warranty has not yet been transferred, it is in the process. I burned a ton of fuel, which I am assuming is also related to the O2 sensor. Neither of the codes put the boat into limp mode and it seemed to run fine, other than the fuel burn. Has anyone experienced these two codes together? Could it be an altitude issue? Since new, the boat has been run around 300' in Washington. I am now running it at 6700' in Montana. Any advice would be appreciated! Can I run the boat without hurting it with these two codes showing? I want to get it in to the dealer, but with the warranty not yet transferred it might take a bit.

So... I'm basically having the exact same issue. Did you ever figure it out?

Just a quick follow up. I replaced the pre-cat 02 on the starboard side and all is well.

We had error code 4238. It correlated to the starboard side Pre-Cat O2 sensor. We purchased the part online (Bosch 17321) from auto zone and it was delivered asap. The install is not complicated, but you will need a little bit of copper anti-sieze on the threads of the new O2 sensor (take care to apply sparingly and avoid the sensor itself), and a 7/8th inch 6 point O2 sensor socket (11$). You can sit in the ballast area and do the install in about 10 mins. Ours was the blue coated wire easiest to view, vs the post Cat which is a black coated wire harness and harder to see. Lake test GTG and error code cleared itself. The "old" sensor was coated in carbon/lead and looked awful (pic attached of the old sensor, new box, and install location).
          Hope this helps!
