Got a 97 2150 with a carb. engine. Its having trouble idling. It will just die but when you give it some gas it runs smooth. The gas thats in it is the same gas from when we de-winterized it. Could it be the gas or possibly the timing or maybe even messing with the carb?

Could be trash in the idle circuit, vacuum leak, or just needs a turn on the idle speed set-screw. Has it run normal so far this year and then just start this? How did it run last season? What all did you do to get it ready for the season?Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Sounds like symptoms of a timing issue. Does it idle for a bit when you first fire it up, run fine with throttle, then die when you put it back to idle?
If it runs well with throttle I would think your gas is "good enough".
Also take a look at your carb. If its pretty dirty, that could be causing similar problems too. If there's not too much line between your fuel filter and your carb, disconnect the line at the filter and spray a bunch of carb cleaner into the line while a buddy opens the throttle up (without the motor running). You'll need a buddy because you use one hand to spray the carb cleaner and the other to make a seal between the little red straw from the carb cleaner and the fuel line.
