    Mootor running rough

I have a 1997 2200v with the black scorpion fuel injected motor. The boat has been sitting since last November. At the end of the year I added some fuel stabilizer to the gas and fuel injection cleaner and ran the motor for 30 minutes. a 1/4 of tank gas was in the tank. This weekend I added more fuel and replaced the fuel filter. The motor started up with no problem but as soon as I gave it gas the motor was back firing and running rough. I ran the boat for 30 minutes and it started to smooth out but there was still loss of power and occasionally the motor would start running rough again. temp and volts looked good. Is it bad gas, plugs or what?

When is the last time you changed the distributor cap and rotor? Plug wires?

3 years on the the cap and plugs. Slalom shop told me the wires last forever. have I reached forever?

The motor seems fine when i put it in neutral and raise the RPM's to 3k. When i put it gear the motor will run rough

Wires should be replaced every 400 hours. How many does yours have?

mine use to do that when it got hot, since one of the impeller pieces got stuck in the cooling system and also when one of the relays went bad....

Granted I don't have the same motor, but saying my issues

I took my boat in to have the oil and trans fluid changed and the dealer claims the plugs are bad, causing the boat to run poor. They wanted $200.00 to replace the plugs. I laughed and told the dealer I will change the plugs myself. I will reply later to inform if this fixed the problem
