    PCM Impeller Change

Anyone in here know how to change the impeller on a PCM? Mine doesn't need changing now, but I thought about keeping an impeller around to save a weekend if needed. I've never changed one...but am mechanically inclined. I've seen the stickies for the other brands but not the PCM in the 09's.

    Thanks...

I think all the PCM's use the sherwood pumps at least the GM engines. They are not that hard to change. The one exception is of course the V drive. Not a lot of room back there. I usually take the serpentine belt off and then there are 3 bolts that haold the pulley to the pump. Remove the pulley. There will be 3 more bolts holding the impeller and housing to the pump body. The body does not need to come off, just take the cover off.

Kona King is exactly right. PCM makes its pretty easy to do any work on the engine, its like they actually thought you might have to work on a boat every now and then.

I changed my impeller for the first time in about 30-45 minutes taking my time.

Thanks...I'll check the links above. I've never replaced an impeller before, but I don't want to end up dead in the water...Thanks guys...

Forgot to mention that I have the EX 343 (v-drive).
