    Transmission Leak, Help!!

I have a 99 21v. I have developed a leak at the pivot point were the shift leaver connects to the transmission. Seams like there must be seal in there. It is loosing quite a bit of ATF so i need to get it fixed. I usually do the majority of my own repair so i would like to tackle this one. I just need some help from my TO.com pals. Anyone have any experience with this and can give me some details? It would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what motor you have, but someone posted a link to a mercuiser website that is a great resource of info. with exploded views of the motor, I am betting that it has pics of what you need and might help you see how it's put together to get it repaired?

The Transmission is a Borg Warner 71c the engine is 350 mag Mpi ski.

From the parts blowup it looks like the leak may be from the stud assmbly but it is very difficult to tell.

Do a search for "Transmision fluid leak". Some guys here helped me a few years back when mine was leaking.

ahhh! we may have the same issue.

I was on my 99 21v tonight and the boat starting slipping from the start. This is when I check my tranny and found a confident leak, a seal sticking out, and no fluid in a rattling transmission (not good). Have you figured out a solution to your problem? Does this look like a similar leak?
