This summer I developed a leak in the transmission and have to put a half a quart in every 10-15 hours. I delt with it due to the long turn over time at the shop and the fact the season here is only about 5 months. Now it is a half a quart every 5 hours. I would like to keep from going to the shop until it is time to winterize in 1.5 months. Is this ok to do. I looked all over and do not see where it is coming from, but my guess it is faulty seal. The boat is a 08 22VE with 80 hours on it. I am hoping to get another 20 before it gets to cold. I ask the local marina guys and they said that the transmission in boats does not require alot of attention and they have seen boats that have gone years without care.
What is yalls opinion.
Thanks.
