Help!!!!.....07 22ve Dies when put into gear

    Hello everyone,

Boat has been running great all summer. Today we go to take it out and after proceeding at idle into deeper water, we give the boat some gas to accelerate and it dies. Now the boat dies every time you attempt to put it into gear.

Got towed back to the lift to see if a rope or something got around the prop/shaft. Nothing... everything looks normal.

How do you access the transmission and V-drive in an 07 22ve. I can fold the back seat down but only partially because it seems to be screwed in somewhere. How do you open the panel in the floor?

    Thanks in advance...

    Conor

Sounds like it's getting just enough gas to keep it running at idle with no load.
If it was "every" time you put it in gear I would suspect the neutral safety lockout switch on the trans, but you said it did it once when reving.
    Check the fuel pressure.
Where do you fill up with gas?
It sounds like a time when my fuel/water separator was full of water.
Dump it into a clear jar to see if there's any water in there.

      Things are not looking good.

Got the floor up... The Vdrive must have a broken seal somewhere.

Does anyone know a Tige Dealer in Michigan? We recently moved here from Colorado and do not know of a dealer near us.

The Tige website is no help. The dealer locator has no results. Guess I will have to wait until Monday and give them a call directly.

Most dealers are closed on Sunday and Monday. You might have to wait until tomorrow?

        Try calling Tige?

Looks like Sunset Boats in Waterford is. http://www.sunsetboats.com

Not sure where you are located. I'm originally from MI, but haven't lived there in 10 years so not much help on dealers in the state.
          Honey I'm home!

Hmmm - I'm wondering if you're having the issue that some of the other ZF trans boats had at WWS in Denver (you probably bought yours there?). Bill had some issues where the factory doesn't recommend the draining of the ZF trans cooler and then water sticks in the copper cooling tube in the transmission and then over the winter it freezes, cracks the tube and lets water into the trans which then causes the tranny to go (which could potentially stall your boat when you try to put it into gear I suppose).

I saw one of them while I was there a few weeks ago and it was UGLY!!!! The copper tube is pretty beefy and it looked like a hot dog in a microwave for too long from the water freezing and splitting it open! The gears were all destroyed and they are pretty beefy gears too!

Check the v-drive fluid and see if it's milky.
