Well, long story first, I developed a knock in my motor end of last season, just out of warranty and as the knock started the computer put the motor into "limp mode" where it limited RPMs. Well after a long winter and spring rebuilding my first small block, I got it back in the boat and running last night, sounded great but I only idled the motor as it was not in the lake. Question I have is, will the computer re-set itself after a few months of no battery power (like a car motor) or do I need to have a dealer clear the codes? Marine does not use a normal OBD2 port so I can not use my scanner. Trying to get things in line so I can splash it this weekend and actually use it this month. Oh, and it is the 340hp Marine Power motor. Thanks!
