    Transom & Platform restoration

Spent the better part of today wet sanding my transom from all the careless dings from the past few years. I also cleaned the platform and oiled it.

Here's what the transom looked like last year after my platform redo....you can really see the dings here...and we added a few more last year.

I used 600 wet sandpaper and Flitz polish. I ran out of the Flitz paste I got from SPBFAN, so I ended up getting some liquid Flitz polish at Ace Hardware...it doesn't work as well with that special polish ball drill attachment, but I made it work by rubbing it on and then using that polish ball.

Not right now....you can still see the faint outline of all that lettering they put on the back of the boat....I kinda like it bare.

Dog what did you use on swim platform beside wet sanding and oiling it?

Snappy Nu Teak Cleaner...it's my thread on it. It's a 2 step process and the kit comes with the brushes.

I like the deep, richer color red that came out on the transom.

It's amazing you don't notice it over time, until you do a makeover like you did.

              Good work!

Believe me, I noticed it. It actually didn't fade all that much, but I do store it inside.

What did you use to sand it and then bring the color back?

I did not wet sand the swim platform, only the transom.
