I have a 2002 23V, 350 Mercruser, I am prepping to go back in the water for this year. I decided to do my own maintenance this year. I haven't personally changed my oil out. What do I need to do that? Doesn't really seem to be enough room under 350 Motor to get an oil dump pan in and out. Do I need some type of drill assisted pump. Also should I be changing out my water pump or water pump impeller each year? Thanks for your help.

Hanging from the engine should be a hose, mines hooked right by the alternator on a metal bracket. You need to feed that hose through your bilge drain. This is your drain hose for your oil. Make sure you fake a lake to heat up your oil to get any sediment out of the engine before you drain it.
And you should replace your impeller every 1-2yrs. And yes change the oil filter and water/fuel separator.

I sent you a Private Message (PM) with my contact #.
There is a link to check your private message in the upper right hand corner of this screen. You should be able to get all the supplies you need at Orange Engine in San Juan Capistrano. It is off of Del Obispo. West Marine in Dana Point should have it as well.Mike Allen, Tigé owner since 1997

Thank you guys so much for comming over to my home and helping me with my boat maintenace. You guys made a positive experience out of something that would have been very ugly, had I attempted on my own the first time out. Thank you guys so much and God Bless you for your giving of your time and talents.

You're welcome. I'm glad we could help. It was great to meet with you and your family.
It was definitely more challenging on the V drive than with my direct drive.
It should be a good summer. Don't forget to bring that extra quart of oil out on the first trip to the water. Check the level with the boat in the water to make sure it's correct at that angle.Mike Allen, Tigé owner since 1997
