I usually just lurk and not post, but in this case I will break from tradition and share my

For restoring an oxidized or scratched finish I like to use variable speed rotary with the appropriate grit polishing pad. For waxing, I like to use an orbital will a wool pad.

I ordered the porter cable 7424xp. Should I use the PC for the compound and the polish and the waxmaster i currently have for the wax?

Congratulations on the purchase. You can use the PC for both. Did you order a kit with some pads for it or just the PC by itself?

Just a bit of personal knowledge to share. If you want an unprecidented mirror like finish with no waves, use a dual action sander starting with 1000grit then move to 1500 then to 3000. I did this to my wifes 04' Dodge Ram and it was litterally like looking in a black mirror with absolutely no wavyness. The work load is cut in half but you must keep a continuous stream of water on the paper.
I also use all 3m products. Compound, machine pollish and micro pollish
. Then finish with a good wax. I like zymol myself.
That said.... Nice job KKO you have to love the fruits of your labor.
