My trailor is in need of some TLC....new carpet for the pads is first inline, wondering if anyone has some tips or advice on doing this. It seems very straight forward but any suggestions on what product to use or the install itself would be great.

Joe:
The bunks at Ski Limited look kinda neat, and they don't cost that much but I can't say whether they're any good.
I redid the 1 pad for my trailer. A loading accident broke it in half (That's a different story altogether). I went to Lowe's and bought the Marine Carpet (which matched the existing bunks perfectly), bought a Treated 2"x6"x6' and stainless steel screws and bolts. The whole thing couldn't have cost $15. It took me about 1 hour to get it done and I'm pretty slow at these things.

You can all so try Trex Deck or some other type of synthetic type of deck material. A buddie of mine used them on his boat trailer and didn't even carpet them. Worked well for him. Long time abrasiveness? The good thing about the trex is that it is made of plastic they will never rot. It is alittle spendy for the 2x6 boards. Good luck.Snow Hard..........

hey joe, its TRAILER
if you do this your self, try softening the edges of the bunks before you carpet them. the shape of your hull does not allow the boat to sit even on the boards. more pressure is on the edges than in the center. this tends to burn the carpet on the edges pretty fast.

Sometimes I type faster than I think....
Yes, CL is STILL closed and the impending rain isn't going to help things. It turns out our lake is held to 10x the standard than other bodies of water in California by our P.O.A. and nobody can explain why.
Addtionally, the standard by which to open or close the lake is inconsistent. Had they used the standard they are using currently the lake would have been closed 11 out of 12 months last year. And of course nobody wants to take responsiblity for anything.

yeah, the "grey water" from Quail Valley (QV) runs into the lake after any rainfall at all and prompts a lake closure. I'm going to Havasu 03_18 and honestly think it will be first time I get the boat in the water unless I go to Perris or Elsinore.
QV homeowners have septic tanks with leech lines for it's sewer system...the problem is the residents are not maintaining them properly and the "gray water" (it really should be called what it is) is pouring into the lake and all sorts of nasty stuff including e-coli is introduced.
The fact that the water becomes Elsinore's drinking water only makes this problem even more serious.
