    Checking transmission

After nearly three years looking, wishing and waiting, I finally became a Tige owner of a blk/yell 22ve. We took it out at the dealership and they showed me how to check the transmission, engine and vdrive fluid (still have the breakin fluid). When they showed me, I did not really see much on the transmission dip stick, but we were own another boat in the showroom floor. Anyway, he took my boat out early that week to make sure everything was sea worthy and stated that all my levels were good. I take it out for about 3 hours, everything goes great. Plan to take it out the next day, check the engine and v drive, look good, nothing on the transmission dip stick. I figured since the boat was trailered maybe not level ect. Put it in the water, recheck it, and nothing. Drive it slowly to the marina, the is fluid on the dip stick, wipe it off and put it in and screw it down all the way, unscrew it and nothing. I am not for sure if the fluid is just not thick enough and it is coming off before I can unscrew it. I placed a clean finger in, but I it goes down deeper than my finger. Oil pressure was maintaining at 55psi, temp at 140 no rattles. Decided to trailer it and seek advice.

No fluid in belly, some oil residue on top of a little water that I poured in, but nothing concerning.

How is the best way to check it while it is trailered.

    Is this normal.

They warned against too much oil was just as bad if not worse than a little less oil.

    Thank.

I am glad I am finally part of the Tige family.

Just out of curiosity did you call your dealer? IMO you should have tranny fluid on that dipstick trailered or not.

There closed until Tuesday. I agree, there should be fluid on the stick, especially in all, but at least in one of the three different situations, on the trailer, in the water cold and after it was warmed up for a few minutes.

I am glad my paranoia is justified.
