    Cleaning the gas stains

Yup... messed up bigtime and fill the tank and then put her away (we were in a rush). Now I have gas marks in the transom underneath and fanning out from the vent. Once it hit the rub rail, the dispersion really took off.

I have had limited success with basically straight Muriatic acid (product called (On/Off).

    Any other recommendations?

Also, we peeled off the last vinyl lettering from the previous owners and I cannot get rid of the shadow it has left. Again, any suggestions?

Thanks! have tried that and a lot of elbow grease and still the marks are somewhat visible - especially the shadow of the old lettering. Wondering if it is at the "I need to be buffed" stage?

The letter issue probably won't be able to be fixed. That was gel coat fading being done.

I did they same thing. they had to wet sand my gelcoat to get the gas stains out and idk about the shadows.....

The difference in color because of the decals can't be fixed, because if you buff out the darker area, it's still going to be darker underneath. You would probably have to buff out all the lighter areas to match the dark area, not vice versa.

*If* it could be done at all...

Yeah, that is exactly the answer(s) that I was hoping not to see. At the same time, we will continue to clean her up as best we can and regardless enjoy the heck out of our boat!

thanks for the suggestion of the Hull Bright. I saw that in a local discount marine supply store.
