I just tried this on my teak plate following all the directions and it came out all blotchy. Certain sections came out light brown; others remained dark brown/black. I tried more #2 and scrubbing and rinsing but it doesn't change. Now instead of looking a faded color, it looks light brown in certain sections with spots of dark brown. So far this has changed the appearance of my teak for the worse.
Any ideas as to how to fix this?
Yes, and I also experienced the same as you. Part1 turns it dark, and the part2 lightens it. I wet the teak and used more part2 and let it stand for a few minutes, then fallowed with some light scrubbing. It finally lightened up to the point it all looked the same.

I ended up using almost 2X the new part2 as I did part1. I feel it was my own doing, and now I understand why. This platform was neglected and looked pretty rough. I wanted to clean the underside just a bit, so id started with it first. Once I was done and flipped the teak over to do the topside, I found that the part1 had run down to the topside and "stained" it while I had it upside down cleaning the underside. I went ahead and cleaned the topside per the instructions, but it took a lot of part2 to get those dark spots to lighten up.

So, in hind-sight, I would recommend that the underside NOT be cleaned with this stuff, just a good pressure washing fallowed by a coat or two of oil once the whole deck is cleaned and dry. One other thing I learned. Get a couple of spray bottles from the dollar store and put the part1 and part2 into them. Misting the cleaners on makes for better coverage and less wasted product.

I would use this system again and would recommend it. Good luck with the dark spots.
