What's everyone use to clean the vinyal in their boat? i've heard son-of-a-gun makes the viyal dry out, is that true?

any time you clean it, (especially with something harsh), you should let it dry then follow up with some 303 protectant.

i use fantastic mostly for cleaning. there is a great document in the downloads section of this site that gives you all the details about cleaning the vinyl.

      Interior

I agree that 303 is the most important piece of protecting any boat interior. I always start with a mild bleach free cleaner like simple green or a 3m vinyal cleaner and then work up to something like soft scrub or any fantastic with bleach as needed.

I used to use Simple Green on my previous boat - never had a problem with it. I switched to regular Fantastic when I bought my Tige because that's what the owner's manual said to use. The documentation that came with my Tige specifically said not to use Simple Green

The best way to clean the vinyl in to use a bucket of warm saopy water. Use a mild dish soap and a soft scrubbing brush. The vinyl is textured and the brush will get you a deep clean and not just the top. Then use the 303. FYI

Although I have been unable to find in Canada, some of my buddies in the US use "G&T Vinyl Cleaner" for cleaning, followed by the 303 protector. The G&T stuff can be ordered directly from G&T.

Unrelated, but they also use "Bo-Shield T9" as a lubricant for coating mechanical parts under the motor box. (Made by Boeing aerospace) http://www.boeshield.com/

Anyone know of a place to get 303 cheap? That stuffs kinda pricey, and I go through that stuff faster than binding lube.

I was suprised to find 303 cheaper in the local Chevy dealer's parts Dept than the boat dealer $2.00 Diff. It's worth a try.
