To get that silly housing out of our boat I had to take the side panel bottom rail out. To get the rail out you have to take out the rear panel and the little front piece of the side panel. What a pain! The plastic housing comes out easy enough, getting to it is the pain. The 2 pieces of the housing snap together. I don't really know why it needs the housing.
