    Salt water

For the first time I'm taking my 20Ci off my lake and to Rhode Island for the weekend. The boat will be docked in the water at a marina for two days only.

Prior to launching back into my lake, what do you guys and gals suggest i do to clean out the salt/brakkish water?

    TIA,

Flush it as as soon as you get it out with flush kit or fake-lake. Hose the trailer very well and try to get it as rinsed as you can both launch and retrieve. Then after you get home the best way to rise the trailer afterwards is to dunk it is fresh again. Other wise you will get salt water in places the hose will not reach. If you are super anal see if you can get local marine to hoist it off. A buddy of mine has a 22V he uses 99% in salt water and very active here, he will have other good advice.

I'm the buddy always in saltwater, just like was stated I try to dunk the boat in a freshwater lake as soon as possible. Luckily we have one right up the street from the saltwater ramp so I usually stop on my way home. I'd also really rinse the bilge well afterwards. I jack the nose of the trailer up as high as possible on top of two concrete blocks to get all the water out. If you get the carpet really wet with saltwater then I would rinse the carpet and use a shopvac to get as much water out also. Luckily with an i you will not be getting much water on the engine from crossing over it to get in the boat. I would also make sure the steering system is well lubed before getting saltwater on it. Make sure you rinse the platform bracket attachment points really well too. Depending on which make of trailer you have you might be able to get a hose in the trailer tubing up front to rinse out the inside of the trailer frame with freshwater. i think that should cover it. Enjoy. Where are you going out at? I was just in Boston for my best friend's wedding and we've gone down to Newport several times.

Crank the wheel all the way to I believe the right, so the steering shaft is fully exposed and grease that really well. Also use a grease gun to lube the rudder pivot, there will be a fitting on the top of the rudder shaft in the bilge.

            Again..Thank you!

I'll be pulling her out of our lake in a bit and onto the trailer. I'll look for those areas to grease.

And I actually have to place the registration sticker and numbers on the boat:-(....Damn!
